A Name Before the First Flight

Andy came to see his aircraft while it was still only a promise.

The fuselage rested in the workshop, bare carbon catching the light. No paint yet, no shine — just the quiet outline of something that will one day carry him far above the ground.

He arrived with his friend and future co-pilot Dan, the visit kindly arranged by Nick, the British importer helping to open the door for Ellipse in the United Kingdom. If all goes well, Andy and Dan may soon become the very first Ellipse customers in the UK, under the new British certification now nearing completion.

For a while, they simply stood there, taking it in.

Andy loves flying and travelling, and at home, three dogs are always waiting for him to return from each journey. Perhaps that is why the moment felt so natural when he picked up a marker and gently wrote his name on the raw fuselage.

Just a small gesture.
